Position Summary:
The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day field operations, managing crews, maintaining compliance with regulations, and ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and within budget. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in environmental remediation, demolition, or related construction fields who is ready to take the next step in leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating field crews, equipment, and materials
• Support project planning, execution, and close-out
• Monitor job sites for safety compliance and quality control
• Help ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.). Oversee Safety.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Track project progress and report on performance metrics
• Assist in training new field personnel and ensuring best practices are followed
• Maintain documentation and assist with reporting for regulatory and internal purposes
• Oversee mechanics, equipment maintenance, and repairs.
• Oversee heavy equipment operations.
• Oversee trucking, logistics, and monitor DOT compliance.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, construction, or a related field
• Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans
• Asbestos Supervisor Certification and OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license
