Company Description
We are a Houston-based commercial real estate development company, not an engineering firm. We identify properties, determine the highest and best use, and lead projects from concept through permitting and construction.
We are seeking a full-time, in-person Licensed Civil / Structural Engineer (PE) to join our internal development team and play a meaningful role in shaping commercial projects from the earliest stages.
What You’ll Do
Participate in site evaluation, feasibility studies, and highest-and-best-use analysis
Lead civil and structural concepts for commercial developments
Develop grading, drainage, detention, utilities, and structural concepts appropriate for Houston-area conditions
Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and municipalities
Lead permitting efforts and respond to agency comments
Provide constructability and cost-awareness input that directly influences development decisions
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Minimum 3 years of commercial construction or commercial development experience
Strong understanding of civil and structural systems for commercial projects
Experience navigating municipal permitting and plan review processes
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with sound engineering judgment
Ability to work full-time in an in-person, collaborative environment
Experience with City of Houston, Harris County, or surrounding jurisdictions
Familiarity with Houston-area drainage, detention, floodplain, and utility coordination challenges
Experience on redevelopment or constrained commercial sites
Why Work Here
We are a commercial development company—not a consulting engineering firm. Our engineers are not billable-hour resources or downstream plan producers. You will be involved early, trusted to make recommendations, and expected to think beyond drawings.
You’ll work directly with ownership, architects, and builders, influencing feasibility, cost, constructability, and long-term project value. This role is ideal for a Houston-area PE who wants real ownership, fewer layers of bureaucracy, and the satisfaction of seeing projects built.
This Role Is Likely Not a Fit If You:
Prefer to only design and hand off plans
Are uncomfortable making judgment calls early in the process
Prefer a traditional consulting or billable-hour environment
Growth Opportunity
This role offers long-term potential to grow into a lead engineering or development-focused leadership position.
Application Instructions:
Please submit your resume and a brief note (3–5 sentences) explaining why a development-side engineering role appeals to you.
