About the Role
As a Chat Support Agent, you will serve as a key digital connection between our patients and care team. You will support patients through secure chat platforms by answering questions, assisting with appointments, and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to professionalism, privacy, and patient-centered care.
What You’ll Do
Communicate with patients via live chat and secure messaging in a courteous, professional manner
Assist with appointment scheduling, confirmations, and general practice inquiries
Provide non-clinical information regarding services, procedures, insurance processes, and office policies
Identify and escalate clinical concerns or urgent matters to ophthalmologists or appropriate staff
Document patient interactions accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Follow established communication standards, workflows, and escalation protocols
Uphold HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and administrative staff to support seamless patient care
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred
Strong written communication skills with a calm, compassionate, and professional tone
Ability to multitask and manage multiple chat conversations efficiently
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Comfort working with technology and learning new systems
