Material Handler II

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred * Good basic math and computer skills * Knowledgeable of good safety practices * Forklift and Crane operator certification * Oracle experience POSITION DESCRIPTION: * Performs a variety of operations within the department to maintain the flow of work * Must be able to perform the following functions: * Transport and load coils onto presses using walking crane and forklift truck; Identify steel coils from dispatch/documentation; Allocate and deallocate steel using Oracle; Unload, unrun, re-band and store steel in appropriate location * Unload slit coil car, band coils, and report production using Oracle; Store coils in appropriate location using walking crane and forklift truck; Perform coil splits in Oracle; Inspect and package steel sales coils per batch instructions * Manage scrap buckets and bucket weights; Unload buckets and load scrap trailers and roll off bins to appropriate weights using large power truck (Taylor); Keep scrap areas and yard clean of fall-off scrap using power magnet * Unload semi-trailers using wide coil (sit down) crane; Review BOL; Load Slitter using wide coil crane; Unload skidded coils using forklift truck; De-can packaged coils; Receive coils into Oracle * Load, unload, and drive the Tug (Choo-Choo) * Keep the Slitting department organized and clean * Perform other duties as assigned Equal Opportunity Employer: Disability/Veteran
