Position Title: Substitute Teacher

Reports to: Building Principal

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Daily

Start Date: Fall 2025

Job Summary: Educate, plan, teach, facilitate and evaluate the students of GFW Public Schools in the educational process as defined by local and state department regulations and guidelines in a substitute capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Classroom Environment

Create an environment of respect and rapport

Establish a culture for learning

Manage classroom procedures

Manage student behavior

Organize physical space

Instructional Interaction

Communicate clearly and accurately

Use questioning and discussion techniques

Engage students in learning

Provide feedback to students

Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness

Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

Degree:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Education or relevant instructional subject area

License:

Licensed teachers in the State of MN with appropriate licensure for assigned areas of responsibility and/or short-call or lifetime substitute teaching license or proof of pending approved licensure

Experience:

No experience required

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking and seeing.

Wages: The daily pay rate is $145.00 per day with an increase to $155.00 per day after 11 days worked.
