Manual Machine Operator - 1st & 2nd Shift

Job Description

A Production Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery in a fast-paced envelope printing and manufacturing environment to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

1st shift: Monday – Friday 7am-3pm

2nd shift: Monday – Friday 3pm-11pm

Pay: $17-18/hour

Location: Belleville, MI

Key Responsibilities:

Setup and Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate envelope printing and converting machinery according to production specifications, job tickets, and safety standards.

Quality Control: Monitor print quality, alignment, folds, and cuts to ensure envelopes meet specifications. Perform regular inspections and make adjustments as needed.

Measurement & Accuracy: Accurately read rulers and measuring tools down to 1/16th of an inch to verify envelope dimensions and machine settings.

Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, machine performance, waste, and any issues encountered.

Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, press operators, and other production team members to maintain workflow and resolve production challenges.

Fast-Paced Workflow: Maintain production speed while ensuring quality in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Mobility: Frequently move around the production floor to load materials, remove finished product, make machine adjustments, and assist with workflow.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Previous machine operation or printing experience required.

Attention to Detail: Strong observational and measurement skills with the ability to read a ruler down to 1/16th of an inch.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift materials, and work in a physically active, fast-paced environment.
