Founded in 1955, Piasecki Aircraft Corporation (PiAC) is a research and development business specializing in design, fabrication and flight testing of experimental rotorcraft and unmanned air vehicles. Piasecki has developed and flown more than 25 different advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft and continues to develop cutting-edge vertical flight technologies.

SUMMARY:

The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Computer Engineer is responsible for the development, testing, and debugging of software for the STRATFI/ARES program and other programs/projects as required. This role focuses on creating software for flight test data collection, analysis, and data presentation while contributing to software architecture and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop software for flight test data collection and analysis.

Design and implement software architecture and detailed technical specifications.

Conduct software testing and debugging to ensure system reliability.

Develop tools for data presentation to support flight test evaluations.

Support out-of-state flight test operations for 1-2 weeks at a time.

Collaborate with the engineering team to align software with project requirements.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

Software Languages: Proficiency in C++, Python, and MATLAB.

Tools & Environment: Experience with Linux, GitLab, and Virtual Machines.

Concepts: Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and System Simulation.

Protocols: Working knowledge of the 1553 bus protocol.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software code and requirement development.

Travel: Willingness and ability to travel for multiple 1-2 week trips to support flight tests.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government secret clearance may be required.
