Manager, Ambulatory Access Capacity Management

Oversees the design, monitoring and maintenance of ambulatory capacity management functions for UVA Health System to include UVA Medical Center, UVA Community Health, University Physicians Group, and UVA School of Medicine. The Manager, Capacity Management - UVA Health Access ensures patient centric access to services are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and timely. Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership across UVA Health System, as well as physicians to identify and proactively mitigate issues which create barriers to ambulatory access and patient flow for all clinics. Scope includes template management for provider and ancillary schedules, continuous alignment of ambulatory capacity to meet patient demand and oversight of capacity-related system configuration. Works in strong collaborative partnership with clinic operations, Access Pods, Revenue Cycle and health Information Technology. Aligns capacity management to strategic initiatives throughout UVA Health to achieve organizational targets. Manages the Central Template Team and other Access Center team members.

Establishes and provides oversight to the application of enterprise-wide template standards and guidelines as well as ensure effective maintenance of scheduling guidelines.

Offers guidance on best practices and opportunities to build schedules for optimal capacity according to guidelines and standards. Conducts periodic specialty-wide template reviews with operations managers and leaders to ensure templates match demand, minimize barriers and promote patient access.

Establishes and provides oversight to the application of enterprise-wide capacity management standards and guidelines.

Promotes accountability between clinic operations and scheduling services to proactively identify capacity opportunities and develop effective action plans.

Works with supervisor to manage the Central Template Team and set clear guidelines and expectations for turnaround time, Cadence team collaboration and operations engagement in template design

Leads collaborative multi-disciplinary teams to include Clinic Operations, Access Operations, Revenue Cycle, and HIT.

Advises leadership of best practices and recommends solutions to drive alignment between technical and operational efficiency.

Monitors applicable industry trends, novel and emerging solutions to drive continuous improvement opportunities.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in related healthcare or business area required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum five (5) years experience in healthcare system setting, and in Access preferred.

Licensure: None

The starting base rate for this role is $74,922.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
