Following the standards of practice, provides transport for supplies, equipment, documents, and other miscellaneous materials pursuant to the goals of CHS. To support inventory supply process of Consolidated Service Center, including receiving, checking, stocking, and completing requisitions.

Responsibilities

This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.

Perform basic medical supply logistics, such as 1) Receive, unload, and inspect shipments for damage and conformity to item/PO/packing list match; 2) Sign for deliveries; 3) Review shipments for accuracy using MMIS; 4) Contact buyers regarding shortages, damaged goods, or other issues. (20%)

Shelve and store items in the appropriate section of storeroom or assigned area; unload and prepare items for delivery; pack, sort, and ship items according to established procedures; use on-line computer program to prepare related forms, labels, and information as required. Obtain and fill orders for supplies from all hospitals and all departments, deliver supplies as appropriate, answer questions on ordering procedures, assist customers with computer entry process. (30%)

Maintain storeroom and other assigned areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition. (5%)

Prepare and maintain various logs, records, and reports related to shipments, vendors, inventory, and assigned activities. Enter receiving and requisition data into the MMIS and maintain related records as required. (15%)

Drive the department vehicle to outlying campuses to deliver supplies as required; load truck with appropriate items; assure deliveries arrive in a timely manner; inspect delivery vehicle regularly to assure proper operating condition. Perform preventative maintenance checkups on courier vehicles including, but not limited to, fluid levels, tire pressure and tread wear, signal lights, brakes and wiper blades, in order to ensure maximum vehicle performance. (15%)

Receive information from dispatcher by either phone or pager regarding pickup or delivery. Complete all dispatched duties properly and in a timely manner, keeping track of each pickup or delivery on the daily log sheet. Exhibits safe and defensive driving skills at all times. (5%)

Meet with appropriate vendors to resolve concerns and disputes associated with quantity, quality, and delivery discrepancies. Conduct periodic physical inventory of all stocked supplies; assist in maintaining proper levels of stock items as assigned. Use computer to obtain information necessary to CSC operations. (5%)

Carries out any special assignments delegated by the Inventory Control Supervisor (5%) Qualifications

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Preferred:

High school grad or equivalent CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum:

Valid California driver license. Driving record may not contain any DUI or reckless driving citations for the past 7 years. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum:

Knowledge of Materials Management Information systems and computerized inventory control systems. Preferred:

Knowledge of excel and MS word computer programs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Ability to operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklift, electric pallet truck, pallet jacks, dollies, handcarts, various hand tools, and the delivery truck. Knowledge of hospital supplies and materials. Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and procedures. Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Prefer knowledge of Santa Barbara County streets and highways.
