Position Summary
HCI requires this position to support consistent academic quality and compliance across its course offerings and delivery operations. The Education Reviewer strengthens curriculum integrity, assessment quality, audit readiness, and continuous improvement by providing structured review outcomes and practical academic advice that supports high-quality education delivery.
Further, the Education Reviewer is a specialist academic quality role responsible for reviewing and evaluating education programs, curriculum content, assessment practices, and academic quality systems within HCI.
Additionally, the role focuses on curriculum and assessment review, compliance support, academic advisory guidance, and continuous improvement. It is structured as an individual contributor role and reports to the Academic Director.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Curriculum and training product review
• Review accredited and non-accredited course content, learning outcomes, and delivery materials to ensure alignment with Training Package requirements and academic compliance (e.g., AQF, RTO etc.) expectations.
• Review assessment tools and mapping to confirm coverage of unit requirements and appropriate evidence expectations.
• Identify gaps and provide documented recommendations to improve curriculum integrity, assessment validity, and learning outcomes.
2. Assessment quality and validation support
• Participate in validation and moderation activities to support fairness, reliability, consistency, and sufficiency of assessment practices.
• Review validation outcomes and support follow-up actions, including improvements to tools, marking guides, and assessor instructions.
• Assist academic teams to apply training package and assessment requirements consistently across delivery modes.
3. Compliance support and audit readiness
• Review academic documentation and evidence required for compliance and audit readiness, including Training and Assessment Strategies and assessment records.
• Support internal quality reviews and self-assessments by identifying compliance risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Contribute to maintaining current academic documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
4. Academic advisory and stakeholder support
• Provide academic and regulatory guidance to trainers, assessors, course coordinators, and compliance staff on curriculum interpretation and assessment practice.
• Liaise internally to promote consistent academic quality across courses, cohorts, and delivery modes.
• Support implementation of continuous improvement actions through practical guidance and documentation support.
5. Research, monitoring, and continuous improvement
• Monitor relevant regulatory updates and education sector changes that may impact curriculum, assessment, and academic quality processes.
• Analyse student outcomes, validation findings, feedback, and internal review results to inform improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement registers and academic governance processes through evidence-based recommendations.
6. Policy and procedure review support
• Review academic policies, procedures, and templates to ensure they are current, practical, and aligned with compliance obligations.
• Recommend updates based on review findings, regulatory updates, and delivery feedback.
Reporting and position structure
• Reports to: Academic Director
• This role provides specialist advice and review input and does not hold organisation-wide managerial accountability for budgets, enrolment targets, or campus operations.

Required qualifications and experience
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor degree in Education/Nursing or higher is required
• A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the educational sector of similar role is required, along with at least 1 year of relevant experience within Australia
• Experience supporting audit preparation and internal compliance reviews
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum review, assessment review, validation activities, and academic quality processes within an RTO or similar education setting
• In addition, candidates who hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent, including TAE40116) will be given preference and priority consideration.
Skills and competencies
• Strong analytical and evaluation skills in curriculum and assessment
• Working knowledge of RTO frameworks and quality requirements (including ASQA Standards and AQF alignment)
• High-standard written documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to provide clear academic guidance to diverse stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify risks and improvement actions
• Collaborative communication style and professional judgement
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Compliance with national standards, demonstrated through successful internal reviews and external audits.
• Completion of scheduled curriculum, training product, and assessment reviews with documented findings and recommendations delivered within agreed timeframes.
• Validation and moderation activities completed as per the validation schedule, including documented outcomes and follow-up actions closed out within agreed timeframes.
• Audit readiness of academic documentation and evidence, including improved accuracy, completeness, and consistency of TAS, assessment tools, mapping, and supporting records.
• Timely reporting and policy or template updates, aligned with regulatory updates and internal review findings.
• Positive internal stakeholder feedback (Academic teams, Compliance and Quality teams) on the usefulness and practicality of review outcomes and guidance
• Contribution to improved student experience and outcomes through academic quality improvements (e.g., clearer assessment requirements and improved consistency across delivery).
