AVEVA PI System Engineer with Google Cloud (GCP) - 100% Remote

Job Title: AVEVA PI System Engineer with Google Cloud (GCP)

Location: 100% Remote in US and EST working hours

Duration: 12+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain AVEVA PI System components including:

o PI Data Archive

o PI Asset Framework (AF)

o PI Vision

o PI Interfaces and Connectors

• Lead integration of PI System data with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, or Dataproc

• Develop and manage ETL/data pipelines to move PI data into cloud-based data lakes and analytics platforms

• Build and support PI Vision dashboards, AF templates, and event-based analytics for business users

• Collaborate with data engineering, IT, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy, availability, and performance

• Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of PI components

• Ensure compliance with data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards

• Troubleshoot historian data flow issues, interface connectivity, and system reliability

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or related field

• 3+ years of experience with AVEVA PI System (OSIsoft PI) configuration, administration, and troubleshooting

• Experience integrating PI System with Google Cloud Platform, including:

o BigQuery

o Pub/Sub

o Cloud Functions

o Dataflow or Dataproc

• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as OPC DA/UA, Modbus, MQTT, and other data acquisition systems

• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or SQL for automation and integration

• Strong understanding of time-series data, historian architecture, and OT (Operational Technology) environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-native PI connectors or custom PI-to-GCP ETL solutions

• Knowledge of AVEVA Data Hub / PI Cloud Connect

• Experience with visualization tools such as Looker, Grafana, or Power BI integrated with GCP

• GCP Certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Data Engineer)

• Industry experience in energy, utilities, manufacturing, or chemicals
