Location: Paducah, Kentucky 42003 (ideal for candidates seeking Kentucky healthcare jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/8/2026 - End: 4/9/2026)
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2300 - $2360
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (06:00-14:30)
Hours per Week: 40
Call: Every other weekend and 2 days a week
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6-7 weekends per contract)
Orientation: 24 hours
Charting System: Epic
Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Qualifications - CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant (OR Tech)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) required
Technical diploma from an accredited CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) program required
NBSTSA certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
CSFA certification through NBSTSA (Certified Surgical First Assistant)
Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Proficiency with Epic charting system
Experience in a community hospital or clinical healthcare setting
Ability to float to various hospital units as needed
COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Responsibilities - Surgical Technologist Travel Job
Assist in complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, ECMO, and thoracic procedures (open, laparoscopic, and robotic)
Scrub and maintain aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures
Apply universal protocols (timeout) and uphold safety standards for radiation, laser, and fire
Accurately label and handle surgical specimens
Perform sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments and operating room environment
Utilize specialized equipment such as Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, cell saver, and endovascular tools
Support wound closure, drainage tube insertion, and assist with all aspects of cardiac case preparation and execution
Participate in weekend and night call rotations as scheduled
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory services and unit secretaries
