CDL Class A Grapple Truck Driver

Express Employment Professionals is looking to hire a CDL Class A Driver to join a growing logging operation in Itasca County. This role is responsible for safely operating a grapple truck to load, haul, and unload logs from logging sites to a local area. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, running equipment, and being part of a hard-working team.

This is a seasonal position that will last through the logging season, starting at $25.00/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a CDL-A grapple truck to load, transport, and unload logs

Use hydraulic grapple and boom controls to safely handle timber

Transport logs safely and efficiently

Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and equipment

Secure loads and follow DOT and logging safety standards

Work around active logging equipment and rough terrain

Perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues

Complete daily logs, tickets, and inspection reports

Communicate with dispatch, loggers, and mill personnel

Qualifications:

Valid Class A CDL, no restrictions, and clean driving record

Experience operating a grapple truck, log truck, or heavy equipment preferred

Knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Strong safety mindset and attention to detail

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills

Ability to climb in and out of equipment multiple times per day

Ability to lift chains and perform light maintenance
