PACIV, a global leader in industrial automation solutions servicing the Life Sciences sector, is looking for a Automation Engineer to support the design, implementation, validation, and maintenance of integrations between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and shop floor automation systems. This role supports regulated manufacturing environments and ensures reliable, compliant data flow for electronic batch records (EBR) and manufacturing analytics.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Design and implement MES integrations with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and plant IT/OT systems
Configure interfaces for EBR, OEE monitoring, data historians, and analytics tools
Develop integration and interface design documentation
Execute validation activities (URS, TMX, DSP, IQ/OQ/PQ)
Support SOP development and training when required
Collaborate with manufacturers and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
5+ years of MES–automation integration experience in GMP-regulated environments
Hands-on experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Kepware, and OSI PI systems
GMP and CSV experience strongly preferred
Ability to provide references for similar projects completed within the last 3 years
Desired Hard Skill Sets:
Industrial Automation: PLCs (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500), Siemens, HMI, SCADA
Protocols & Integration: OPC UA/DA, Modbus TCP, REST APIs, Kepware
Historians & Data: OSI PI (Data Archive, PI Vision, Event Frames), batch/lot data, OEE
Configuration: PLC/DCS tag setup, MES interfaces, gateways, historian templates
