Cottage Health seeks a Director of Facilities Management responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for clinical engineering, plant maintenance, plant operations, transition planning, and project management at GVCH, SBCH and SYVCH. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling renovation and remodeling, plant operations and maintenance of facilities, transition planning and execution, as well as equipment required for hospital operation.
Responsibilities

Oversees Plant Operations, Plant Maintenance, Clinical Engineering, Property Management and Transition Planning; develops objectives and policies, coordinates and controls activities. Directs the development of departmental budgets by coordinating operational and capital expenditures, revenue and productivity and staffing needs. Utilize trends and historical data to determine utility and maintenance costs. Coordinate the delivery of essential facility services by organizing the various units of Facilities Management to best meet the work requirements of the organization. Recommend to Vice President of Support Services changes to maintenance practices and energy conservation measures to maximize efficiencies, minimize operating costs and improve overall plant deliverables.
Create and implements plans and processes to proactively identify, address and remedy facility maintenance and repair needs to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies: Federal, State (OSHPD), Local, The Joint Commission and California Department of Public Health (CDPH), including aesthetic appearance expectations and patient safety requirements.
Serve as Project Manager for Cottage Health on aesthetic/construction projects less than $10 million. Manage and oversee projects including budget, design, planning, coordination of contractors, and execution of construction plans to ensure deliverable in a timely fashion. Manages all Transition planning and execution. Provide insight and support to Project Management Department to support future projects design, construction, and occupancy. Manages, coordinates and facilitates program and design development with various directors, hospital staff, design professionals and outside consultants. Leads development and preparation of project budgets, schedules, permitting, contracting, and licensing efforts on projects. Coordinates and ensures timely completion of all project milestones in order to keep the project on schedule and within the approved budget. Establishes standards and procedures for project documentation and reporting, both internally and to outside agencies. Administers and controls all paperwork related to the project to ensure that all documentation for scheduling, cost accounting, and code requirements are met and appropriately maintained. Prepares project status reports, keeping management and others informed of project schedules and related issues.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelor's of Science in Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related years of equivalent experience (2 years for each year of college).
Preferred: Master's of Science in Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: Member of ASHE and CSHE. Must maintain membership.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum: Working knowledge of The Joint Commission standards, California Code of Regulations Title 24, Title 22, NFPA and Life Safety Codes. Project Management experience in health care construction. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook software.
Preferred: OSHPD Project Management experience.
