A client of Insight Global is looking for a Toolmaker to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and correcting Class A defects, documenting tool and production changes, and ensuring efficient operations that meet customer specifications. You’ll work with precision equipment and collaborate closely with production teams to maintain high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include autonomously troubleshooting production defects to minimize downtime, executing engineering changes and tool improvements for customer complaints, and maintaining safe work practices. You will follow the Work Order system in SAP to capture, print, and update progress daily, as well as safely operate cranes, machines, and basic tools to transport dies to the Line Workshop. Additional duties include ensuring proper handling of equipment and adherence to all safety procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting in a Class A automotive stamping plant
• USDOL Tool & Die Journeyman's Card or 5 years of related experience
• Must be able to use and explain how to use precision/hand tools as they relate to tool and die
• Must be able to read detail prints & order perishable details such as pierce punches & buttons, gas springs, guide pins and bushings, etc.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with implementation of Engineering changes
• Experience in a Die Build Facility
