Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the overall design and project budgets. Has overall responsibility for the profitability of the project.
May serve as sole engineer on small projects, supervise other engineers within the firm on larger or multiple projects, or work directly with another Project Manager on a project.
Consults with the client to determine the requirements of the project, reviews the conditions, design, and technical requirements, develops studies or reports, and proposes solutions to the client.
Responsible for the establishment of the project schedule, maintaining the schedule as the project progresses, and communicating with the client as milestones or deadlines are met or changed.
Guide the engineering team to ensure the project is designed to establish specifications, building codes, and work with the team to create solutions to unforeseen conditions as they arise.
Coordinates the engineering team, holds kick-off meetings, and milestone or progress meetings to ensure the team meets the established project schedule. Makes regular progress updates to the Engineer in Charge.
Ensures the project has a QA/QC review before final submittal.
Must be able to work with others as a team, effectively communicate with all contributors on a project, and maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations.
Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors, and provides performance-enhancing feedback to team members.
Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies. Is the primary client contact for various clients.
Attends client meetings.
Responsible for control of work-in-progress, ensures accurate client billings, and assists in outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on projects.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures as stated in the current PJF Employee Policy and Procedure Manual.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
7+ years of experience managing engineering projects
Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, RISA 3D, MS Office, and project management tools.
Experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Due to the collaborative nature of this position and accessibility for in-house and on-site client meetings, it is essential that the work be performed in the office and during regular business hours.
Some travel may be required. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and the risk of electrical shock.
