Description
The studio of NICOLEHOLLIS, located in San Francisco, is seeking a talented and motivated post-graduate design intern to assist our design team. We are looking for an intern who is dedicated to expanding their knowledge of interior design and is responsible, detail-oriented, and eager to assist in this collaborative office environment with the hopes of joining our team completely at the end of their internship journey. This opportunity will offer a developing interior designer valuable in-depth, hands-on experience within the industry. Design Interns will work on a variety of projects and scope of work that range from residential design, furniture and/or interior architecture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Design Team in development of preliminary space planning, design concept studies and sketches, design presentations, moodboards, 3D models & visualization, rendered floorplans & elevations, full set of construction drawings, specifications packages (finishes, interior architecture, FF&E), custom furniture design, and furniture package
Coordination and correspondence with various consultants, vendors, manufacturers, fabricators and contractors
Assist in coordinating/requesting pricing, lead-times, material samples, and procurement
Finishes and furniture product research and sourcing
Update schedules, budgets, meeting notes, purchase orders, specifications, folders and files, archiving, organize project materials and submittals, resource library, vendor contacts and more
Assist in overall maintenance of materials library under supervision of Librarian (sorting fabrics samples, organizing finish samples, updating labels and catalogs, and more)
Coordinating pickups and drop-offs to the Design Center and showrooms
Attend and represent the Company at industrial events, trade shows, and networking events
Efficiently work with a team of designers and administrators, demonstrating strong collaborative and communication skills

REQUIREMENTS & CORE COMPETENCIES
REQUIREMENTS
Recent graduate with a degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in design software( AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, MS Suite, Sketchup, or similar 3D modeling software)
Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
A strong passion for interior design and innovation.
Previous internships or experience in the design industry are a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
This position will be working in a typical office setting, with no extremes in temperature or lighting
Able to occasionally travel and present at offsite locations in the Bay Area

Ability to lift 25lbs and transport items in and out of vehicles. Ability to work on feet/run errands for 4+ hours per day as needed. Ability to sit at a desk for 6+ hours per day
