Work Days: 260 days (8 hour days - typical schedule is from 6:30am-3:30pm)
Rate of Pay: $30.00-40.00 per hour. Offer also includes School Board paid IMRF pension, paid vacation days, and benefits options are available.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining the fleet of district buses in optimal condition by performing preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, emergency road repairs, and will occasionally be asked to drive a bus as needed. Applicants must have the ability to interact with fellow workers in a positive way and possess reliable and dependable work habits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform preventative maintenance for all vehicles
Perform mechanical repairs for all vehicles
Drive bus as needed
Perform emergency road repairs
Maintain department equipment, tools and facility in accordance with district and OSHA regulations ensuring a safe and clean work environment
Ordering and inventory control of parts, department supplies, fluids etc
Assist with the cleaning, clearing, repairing and safe operation of the department fueling stations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in automotive maintenance and repair
ASE Certification (preferred)
Illinois bus driver permit and CDL license (or willingness and ability to obtain it within an agreed amount of time) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
Maintain certification for the Illinois Online Class A/B/C Operator Course (for Dispensing Facility)
Experience with computer diagnostics and ability to understand vehicle schematics
Experience maintaining fleet vehicles
United States Citizen or hold the necessary credentials as specified by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Knowledge of State and Federal mandated requirements regarding the repair and maintenance of school buses
Work with and around hazardous materials and participate in emergency clean-up hazardous waste or material spills
