Position: Technical Assistant (1) Reporting to: Project Coordinator Location: Kisumu and Siaya Counties Main Objectives of this position: The Study Technical Assistant will support the HTS Prep Project, which focuses on Scaling up for impact: HIV testing counselor-led pathway to accelerate PrEP delivery at scale.
The study technical assistant will assist in drafting study materials such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials, quality improvement initiatives, and training toolkits to enhance clinical outcomes and implementation.
The role includes engaging healthcare workers and stakeholders, monitoring PrEP delivery, and ensuring adherence to study protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks include: Assist in drafting study materials such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials Contribute to abstract and manuscript development or other research reports.
Train Facilities’ staff including nurses and HTS counselors on PrEP delivery with family planning (FP) clinics Mentoring facilities on PrEP delivery within FP clinics Conduct quarterly County supervision visits together with study coordinator Prepare weekly and monthly mentorship reports Consent and collect data from study subjects who are participating in the study Conduct Continuous Medical Education (CME) on PrEP at facilities where the study is being conducted Abstract family planning (FP) and PrEP data from facilities registers Collecting study data in the highest standard possible as per the study protocol.
Assist social scientists in qualitative research.
Assist Project Coordinator with duties as needed.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences: Must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing Must be registered by nursing council of Kenya (NCK) and have a valid practicing license Past research experience: At least 4 years Must have worked in Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) field for not less than 4 years Must have 3 years’ experience in mHealth fields Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate regularly with study coordinator via email/ Zoom Excellent skills with mobile technology/ patient interaction in real time Language skills: fluency in English and Kiswahili.
