Warehouse - Freezer

Description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Warehouse - Freezer loads, unloads, receives, stores frozen food products and stores them in the appropriate freezers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Helps load and unload shipping containers.

2. Receives frozen products and stores it in designated freezers.

3. Ensures products are rotated using First In/First out (FIFO) procedures.

4. Helps freezer co- leads by locating and prepping products for delivery.

5. Helps conduct annual and periodic inventories.

6. Perform functions necessary to keep freezer neat and orderly.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily inside a warehouse, with extended exposure to below freezing temperatures in a slippery environment. May be exposed to a stressful environment to include loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time, move around the facility from one location to another, talk, hear, use fingers to type, handle or feel and reach objects and lift and/or move objects 10 pounds or less. The employee may occasionally need to kneel, crawl, stoop, bend and lift and/or move items 40 pounds or more. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

POSITION TYPE:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will be given a regular day off.

TRAVEL

Local travel to various worksites may be required.

Qualifications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Ability to work in cold storage freezers for periods of time with appropriate outerwear.

2. Works cooperatively and collaboratively within a group.

3. Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

2. Previous warehouse experience a plus

3. Health Certificate required
