Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, persons with disabilities, or those requiring specialized care. You will work closely with clients to deliver personalized care plans, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
Duties
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Administer medications following prescribed schedules and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform patient transfers safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces
• Support clients in engaging with community activities, social events, or recreational outings to promote mental and emotional well-being
Qualifications
• Prior experience in home health care, assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, autism support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training are required; additional certifications like nursing assistant (CNA) or social work experience are a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining client safety
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and family members
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and professionalism when working with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with complex health needs
• Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, vital signs monitoring, and patient documentation
