Description:

Team Overview and Job responsibilities

Based in Heredia, Belén, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. You will implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and monitor good security practices.

Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on and results-oriented Raw Materials Warehouse Supervisor to lead and manage the entire raw materials warehouse operations for our manufacturing company. This role goes beyond traditional supervision — it requires full management responsibility for the efficient receipt, storage, inventory accuracy, material integrity, and timely transfer of raw materials to production. The incumbent will ensure strict compliance with audit controls, occupational safety standards, and a 100% safety culture, while providing reliable, timely, and accurate information to support production and overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse personnel responsible for receiving, handling, storing, inventory recording, and transferring raw materials to production lines.

Oversee efficient receiving processes for incoming raw materials, verifying compliance with purchase orders, quality specifications, and all audit/control requirements (including documentation, inspections, and traceability).

Ensure the integrity, proper storage conditions, and protection of raw materials to prevent damage, contamination, or deterioration.

Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical reconciliations, perpetual inventory systems, and monthly/periodic reconciliations with external warehouses or third parties.

Manage and control material transfers to production (domain transfer), ensuring timely, accurate, and documented movements to minimize downtime and support production schedules.

Provide timely, reliable, and actionable data and reports on inventory levels, material availability, discrepancies, and key performance indicators to planning, production, and management.

Monitor and optimize warehouse space utilization, storage layouts, and material flow for maximum efficiency and safety.

Enforce and promote a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring full compliance with occupational health & safety regulations, company policies, proper use of PPE, equipment maintenance, and risk identification/mitigation.

Continuously evaluate operating procedures, implement improvements, and drive productivity, waste reduction (including management of waste and scrap metal areas), and cost savings.

Train, coach, and develop team members on standard operating procedures, safety protocols, inventory systems, and best practices.

Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and align warehouse activities with organizational needs.

Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) for data entry, order processing, inventory management, and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse/logistics operations within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role managing teams.

Proven expertise in raw materials/inventory management, receiving processes, stock control, and material transfers in industrial settings.

Strong knowledge of warehouse best practices, inventory control techniques (cycle counting, FIFO, ABC analysis), and logistics operations.

Intermediate to Advanced English level (written and spoken) — essential for reporting, communication, and system usage.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting).

Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM/WM modules) or similar WMS/ERP platforms.

Key Competencies

Strong leadership & people management skills — ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams while holding them accountable.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and evaluate options quickly.

Superior organizational and prioritization abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy focus.

Proactive, customer-oriented mindset (internal customers: production & planning) with initiative and a continuous improvement orientation.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and levels.

Commitment to safety-first culture and regulatory compliance.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

Willingness and demonstrated capacity to learn new systems, processes, and technologies.
