About the Role
We're looking for a Controller & Finance Manager to join our finance team and build the financial infrastructure that powers Blitzy's scale from $10M to $100M ARR.
Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, you will be the first dedicated finance hire and you will manage day-to-day financial operations: accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, systems implementation, and compliance. You'll be the execution engine that ensures our financial operations run with precision as we scale 10x.

What Success Looks Like
You build and maintain a financial model that drives clarity around growth, burn, and margin.
You prepare Blitzy for institutional venture capital raises, leading data-room, diligence, and board-material readiness.
You implement and optimize QuickBooks, Rippling, HubSpot, and Ramp with clean data flows and reliable reporting.
You take an active role in hiring, participating directly in interviews to assess culture and role fit.
You design and scale structured hiring, compensation, and performance systems across the company.
You drive company-wide operational cadence (OKRs, reviews, dashboards) that enables speed and accountability.
You serve as the connective tissue between finance, people, legal, and GTM operations.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
Manage month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
Handle revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 for SaaS contracts
Maintain general ledger integrity and proper chart of accounts structure
Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with supporting analysis
Coordinate with Pilot CFO services on accounting deliverables and transition planning
Systems & Process
Implement and manage accounting systems (current: QuickBooks; future: NetSuite or Sage Intacct)
Integrate finance systems with Rippling (HRIS), HubSpot (CRM), and Ramp (expense management)
Build workflows and internal controls for approvals, procurement, and spend management
Document accounting policies and procedures for SOPs
Ensure data accuracy and reconciliation across all financial systems
Compliance & Controls
Establish internal control framework in preparation for SOC 2 and financial audits
Manage sales tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Oversee payroll processing and compliance in partnership with Rippling
Support annual financial audit and serve as contact for auditors
Maintain corporate records, compliance filings, and insurance policies
What Makes You a Fit
CPA required with active license in good standing
5-7 years of progressive finance experience, including:
3+ years at Big 4 public accounting firm (Senior Associate to Manager level)
2+ years in industry as Controller, Senior Accountant, or Finance Manager at a growth company
Strong technical accounting background: ASC 606 revenue recognition, GAAP compliance, financial statement preparation
Hands-on experience implementing accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar)
SaaS or subscription business experience understanding recurring revenue models
Compensation
Base Salary: $150,000 - $185,000, plus meaningful equity value
