Essential Job Duties

The City of Wenatchee hires between 20 to 30 temporary lifeguard/swim instructors, cashiers and other support staff for the City pool during the summer months. Lifeguard/Swim Instructors must have current lifeguard, first aid and CPR certifications, with special consideration given to certified Water Safety Instructors.

The City of Wenatchee has adopted a policy measuring the 'full-time' status of temporary employees over 12-months for purposes of benefit eligibility. Temporary employees with assignments less than 6-months are not eligible for benefits with exception of participation in the WA State Department of Retirement System (DRS) as long as DRS eligibility requirements are met (compensated for at least 70 hours per month for five months in a 12-month period). There will be no retroactivity applied to benefits or any other employment terms and conditions should regular employment be offered at a future date.
