Seasonal - Engineering Aide

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Uses range pole or level rod to establish vertical and horizontal control.

* Sets grade stakes for construction projects.

* Inspects various construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.

* Reads, interprets and understands construction plans and specifications.

* Maintains effective communication with the contractor, public and other employees.

* Performs basic engineering calculations and functions.

* Operates a motor vehicle.

* Maintains accurate notes and records.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS * Performs miscellaneous inspection related tasks.

* Performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

* Performs miscellaneous survey related tasks.

* Operates a City vehicle.

* Ability to traverse construction sites to perform inspection duties.

* Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and functions.

* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

* Ability to perform manual labor under varying weather conditions.

* Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner.

* Must be able to provide own steel toed shoes.

* Must possess a valid driver's license.

* Must be at least eighteen years of age.

WORK SCHEDULE: Hours per day: 8 Specific hours: 7:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m.
