Sewon America is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Import & Export Compliance Specialist to support and manage international trade compliance and logistics operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations while supporting material flow and inventory accuracy across our global supply chain, particularly between the United States, Mexico, and the Republic of Korea.
Job Requirements:
- Maintain accurate inventory and supply records in the ERP system, ensuring compliance with specifications and delivery requirements
- Verify Bills of Materials (BoMs) for each production order prior to release
- Manage inbound and outbound material flow, maintain inventory control, and forecast material requirements
- Track shipments across multiple logistics channels and monitor the full product movement process
- Develop, maintain, and enforce company-wide import/export compliance policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal manuals
- Research current tariffs and trade regulations and maintain an up-to-date compliance database
- Ensure all customs entries are properly and timely filed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including Entry, ISF, Reconciliation, Export EEI, and Drawback
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of all applicable duties, taxes, and fees
- Solicit bid proposals, analyze pricing, and prepare requisitions for parts, materials, and supplies
- Oversee customs compliance related to trade between the United States, Mexico, and the Republic of Korea
- Communicate with customs officials and relevant government agencies
- Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), apply proper valuation methods, and manage Free Trade Agreement qualifications
- Implement and ensure compliance with USMCA (NAFTA) and Korea–U.S. FTA regulations, including product specifications and import quantities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience in import/export compliance, customs brokerage, or international logistics
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory management
- Working knowledge of USMCA (NAFTA) and Korea–U.S. FTA
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
