Position overview

Our client is seeking a Data Architect to define and design the target-state data architecture supporting analytics, AI enablement, data product development, and lifecycle management. This role ensures that data systems are scalable, well-governed, secure, and aligned with enterprise technology standards. The estimated salary range for this position is from $210,000 to $250,000 USD per year. Occasional travel required to client sites within the Central Virginia region.

Responsibilities

Define enterprise data architecture for ingestion, modeling, integration, metadata, lineage, and data products

Partner with product and IT teams to design data pipelines, canonical data models, and reusable data products

Guide design choices in support of modernization programs, including data retention and lifecycle standards

Develop architectural patterns for data quality controls, monitoring, and lifecycle management

Support ingestion and modeling of critical enterprise datasets across customer, product, operations, finance, and marketing domains

Ensure architecture supports AI infrastructure, security requirements, and compliance obligations Requirements

7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles

Expertise in cloud data platforms, modern data stacks, and event- or API-driven integrations

Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior technical and business stakeholders
