To safeguard the physical welfare of patients, staff, and visitors. Helps protect the hospital's property and assets from vandalism and theft.
Responsibilities

Performs preventative foot patrol of hospital buildings, perimeters and parking lots of ensure their physical security against theft, intrusion, vandalism, and other damage producing causes. (20%)
Protects hospital assets and safeguards the physical welfare of patients, employees, and the public. (20%)
Answers calls for service, performs scheduled shift duties, handles lost/found and deceased patient property and enforces parking regulations. (20%)
Responds to emergency calls for assistance. (10%)
Provides nighttime escorts to ensure safety of employees and visitors. (10%)
Conducts initial investigations of reported security and safety incidents and writes security reports. (5%)
Conducts field interviews and initiates investigations of suspicious persons, suspicious circumstances, and unauthorized persons observed on hospital property during the daytime and nighttime hours. (5%)
Demonstrates professionalism, communication, and compassion with regard for human dignity. (10%)
Qualifications
All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Preferred:
High school grad or GED and completion of college-level courses.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum:
Private Proprietary Security Officer license. California Driver License. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire or transfer within 6 months of hire or transfer.
