Controls Systems Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH (43054) Pay: $60.10–$69.71/hr 6+ Month Contract-to-Perm Onsite Join a leading digital infrastructure team supporting high-availability, mission-critical data center environments.

We’re seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in Power Distribution and Control Systems to drive design, engineering, deployment, and optimization of complex systems in retrofit and modernization projects.

This role is hands-on, highly technical, and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced data center operations.

What You’ll Do: Design and engineer power distribution and control systems for retrofit and new infrastructure projects Develop sequences of operation and integration requirements for HVAC, electrical, and BMS/BAS platforms Oversee onsite installation, testing, and commissioning of control and power systems Troubleshoot system faults, alarms, and performance issues across BAS, HVAC, electrical, and networked systems Integrate power distribution equipment with fire alarm, security, monitoring, and other facility systems Maintain documentation (schematics, diagrams, O&M manuals) and train internal teams Support onsite construction activities and maintain strong customer relationships Travel between AWS data center facilities as needed What You Bring: Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering 3–7 years in medium/low-voltage power distribution or controls engineering Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers preferred) Strong proficiency with BAS/BMS platforms (Schneider, Niagara, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls) Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, control theory, and networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) Familiarity with commissioning (Cx, TAB) and system integration Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
