POSITION PURPOSE
The Middle School Associate Principal serves as a key instructional and operational leader supporting the Principal in advancing Rome City Schools' Four Pillars: Student Achievement, Staff Development, Stakeholder Engagement, and Safety & Operations.
The Associate Principal provides leadership in academics, school climate, personnel, and daily operations to ensure a safe, high-performing, and student-centered learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership required, or
Master's Degree in another education field with completion of an Educational Leadership program within five (5) years Certification
Valid Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate (Level 5 or higher), or
Meets qualifications for NPL-5 with a passing score on the GACE Educational Leadership Assessment Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of successful educational experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technology and computer proficiency MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Assist in the leadership, supervision, and continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction.
Use student performance data, including standardized assessments, to identify needs and support instructional improvement.
Support academic interventions, special education services, and enrichment programs.
Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and behavior and support corrective actions.
Assist in organizing student schedules, registration, orientation, and academic programming. STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Assist in the supervision, observation, coaching, and evaluation of teachers and staff.
Support the organization and delivery of professional learning and staff development.
Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Support the Principal in staff recruitment, placement, and mentoring. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and community partners.
Support positive school culture and strong family-school partnerships.
Serve on school and district committees and tribunal panels as required.
Represent the school in meetings, events, and community interactions when assigned. SAFETY & OPERATIONS
Assist with maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
Enforce student discipline and attendance policies in a fair, consistent, and restorative manner.
Support emergency preparedness, safety procedures, and student supervision.
Assist with supervision of student activities, assemblies, and extracurricular programs.
Assist with maintenance, security, and daily operations of the school facility.
Support fiscal operations, including purchasing and appropriate use of school funds. LEADERSHIP & ADMINISTRATION
Assume responsibility for school operations in the absence of the Principal.
Keep the Principal informed of issues, trends, and activities affecting the school.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
Support the effective implementation of Board of Education policies and district initiatives. OTHER DUTIES
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
