Sr. Salesforce Developer

Location: Columbus OH, Onsite - 5 Days/Week

Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist (TS3) - Salesforce Developer to support the Medicaid ITS team. This role is responsible for the design, development, configuration, customization, and integration of Salesforce (SFDC) solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, Apex, SOQL, and Salesforce Communities, along with strong experience in integrations and Agile delivery.

This is a senior, hands-on technical role requiring close collaboration with business stakeholders, development teams, and leadership to deliver scalable, high-quality Salesforce solutions that support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business teams to understand processes and translate requirements into Salesforce solutions

Participate in all phases of the SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support

Design, develop, test, document, and deploy solutions on the Force.com platform

Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Apex classes/triggers, SOQL, and JavaScript

Configure and enhance workflows, Flows, validation rules, and automation

Develop and manage Salesforce Communities (Experience Cloud)

Create and maintain advanced reports and dashboards, including executive-level reporting

Manage third-party integrations using REST and SOAP APIs

Perform data migration and imports using Salesforce Data Loader and related tools

Conduct unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Troubleshoot, log, and resolve Salesforce and integration issues

Follow Salesforce best practices for release management and deployments across sandboxes and production

Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials

Mentor and train state development resources

Proactively identify system improvements and communicate changes to users Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

8-10 years of experience in analysis, design, and application development

5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and administration experience

5+ years of experience with:

Lightning Web Components (LWC)

Aura Components

Apex, SOQL, JavaScript

5+ years of experience with Salesforce Clouds:

Sales Cloud

Service Cloud

Community / Experience Cloud

5+ years of experience in Salesforce design, configuration, customization, and coding

3+ years of experience with Salesforce tools such as:

Data Loader

Outlook Connector

Jitterbit, MuleSoft (or similar middleware)

Strong experience with REST & SOAP API integrations

5+ years of experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments Preferred / Desired Qualifications

Salesforce Developer and/or Administrator Certification

Experience with Salesforce tools such as Flosum and OwnBackup

Strong reporting and dashboard development expertise

Proven leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
