Summary The Security Associate helps protect people, property, and company assets by conducting patrols, monitoring mall areas, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies.
This role supports a safe, orderly, and customer-friendly environment through professionalism, strong situational awareness, and accurate documentation.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to Safety & Asset Protection – Help maintain the safety of employees, customers, tenants, and company property.
Identify hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations and take appropriate action.
Patrol & Area Monitoring – Conduct routine interior/exterior patrols of assigned areas (e.g., common areas, back-of-house corridors, entrances/exits, parking/loading areas). Observe and report hazards, security risks, or maintenance/safety concerns.
Access Control – Monitor entrances and restricted areas; screen visitors, contractors, and deliveries per procedure; verify authorization and maintain visitor/vendor logs as required.
Emergency & Incident Response – Respond promptly to alarms, medical situations, disturbances, and other incidents.
Provides assistance within training level, secure the scene, notify leadership, and coordinate with local agencies such as Guam Police Department, Guam Fire Department, or emergency services personnel as directed.
Policy Enforcement / Operational Support – Enforce mall/store rules firmly and respectfully.
Support loss prevention procedures as assigned (e.g., receipt verification, employee bag checks) while maintaining customer service standards.
Documentation & Communication – Prepare clear incident reports and daily logs; document actions taken and escalation steps; complete shift handover notes and communicate key updates to the next shift and supervisor.

Education and/or Experience A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum one year experience in security or related field; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and respond quickly during emergencies; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A valid driver’s license, health certificate, and First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or ability and willingness to obtain these certifications is required for this position.
