Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
Position Reports To: CEO / President

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer supports the design, development, and production of custom manufactured products by translating concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions. This role works closely with design, sales, estimating, purchasing, and production teams to ensure products meet customer requirements, maintain structural integrity, and can be efficiently produced in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate concepts and recommend the best engineering approach to meet or exceed design and customer requirements
Create detailed, production-ready drawings for assemblies and components that eliminate interpretation or ambiguity
Define load requirements and testing methods to confirm product capabilities and structural integrity
Collaborate with designers and customers to understand intent and determine optimal manufacturing solutions
Ask questions, document assumptions, and clarify unknowns to ensure accuracy throughout the design process
Provide design and structural recommendations that balance appearance, performance, durability, and cost
Develop products that are easy to assemble using minimal hardware
Create clear, easy-to-follow assembly instructions
Maintain and revise existing designs and drawings, documenting changes and revisions
Provide timely information and support by responding to questions and requests
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company standards, and established procedures
Estimate task timelines, meet committed deadlines, and provide regular project status updates
Participate in daily PDR meetings to ensure project alignment and identify potential issues early
Participate in NPN meetings to support successful and profitable release of new products (domestic and import)
Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and other departments to ensure alignment and feasibility
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and standardization
Observe merchandising and display trends and translate them into potential future product solutions
Foster positive working relationships across all departments
Position Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced custom design/manufacturing environment
Experience in store fixture and display manufacturing preferred
Minimum 2-year technical degree required
4-year Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Willingness and ability to learn GlobalShop ERP system
Experience working with metals, wood, plastics, and specifying appropriate hardware
Strong design and value engineering skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented, dependable, and collaborative work style
Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment
Willingness to travel occasionally within and outside the U.S.
