Warehouse Material Handler

Job Description

Salary: Starting at $18/hour

G.A. Rich & Sons is a family-owned company providing Commercial Plumbing, Process Piping, Site Utilities and Municipal Service throughout Illinois. We are seeking a full-time Warehouse Material Handler on site at our Deer Creek office.

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Essential Functions:

Use forklift and pallet jack to move and store inventory

Pick up materials from supply house and return to warehouse

Deliver materials to specified jobsites

Pick inventory from warehouse or yard based on order quantity

Box, bag, or palletize ordered material

Complete out of shop tickets

Load outgoing shipments in truck or trailer

Unload incoming shipments and returned inventory by hand or with forklift

Verify quantity of delivery matches ship ticket

Sort, organize, and place inventory in proper locations

Participate in inventory counts

Maintain inventory neatly in proper locations

Record and properly put away returned material

Stack and organize large bulk items following safety protocols

Qualifications:

High school diploma required

Forklift operator certification required

Conducts oneself in a professional manner with responsibility, integrity, accountability and excellence

Demonstrated ability to take initiative; always finds a way to be productive, takes pride in their work

Works well as a team member; places the success of the team above self interest

Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors

Basic understanding of inventory control procedures

Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision

Ability to perform basic math calculations

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Body Positions: sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending. Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.

Body Senses: Use of vision and hearing to perform primary tasks
