Wave Consulting Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to lead our gourmet grocery store in beautiful St. Thomas, VI. This hands-on leadership role requires a passionate professional who can drive operational excellence while delivering an exceptional customer experience in our specialty food retail environment.

Position Overview

Pay: Starting at $40,000.00 per year

What You’ll Do:

Oversee all daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow

Manage inventory ordering and procurement to maintain optimal stock levels of specialty and gourmet products

Coordinate receiving procedures, including quality control and proper storage of products

Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations

Team Leadership

Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified team members

Train and develop staff on product knowledge, customer service excellence, and operational procedures

Create staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and labor cost control

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback

Address employee relations issues and implement corrective action plans when necessary

Foster a positive, collaborative team culture focused on customer satisfaction

Financial Management

Monitor and manage store budget, expenses, and profitability targets

Analyze sales data and adjust strategies to maximize revenue

Control shrinkage and minimize waste through effective inventory management

Process payroll and maintain accurate employee records

Customer Experience

Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met

Build relationships with customers and respond to inquiries and concerns

Stay informed about gourmet food trends and specialty products

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications below to be considered. Please only apply if you meet these requirements.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in grocery, specialty foods, or gourmet retail

Proven track record in inventory management, ordering, and receiving procedures

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in hiring, training, and performance management

Experience implementing corrective action plans and handling employee relations matters

Financial acumen with ability to manage budgets and drive profitability

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field

Experience with specialty, organic, or gourmet food products

Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software

Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish/Creole) are a plus
