Summary
Storeroom Warehouse Associate is an individual contributor positioned within a storeroom and/or a customer’s location responsible for following established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, stock and store, record, and dispatch goods in a storeroom/warehouse.
Job Description
Filling orders, unloading trucks, pulling tickets
Receiving products and putting them away
Driving a forklift (experience not required; training provided)
Providing customer service (customer-facing position)
Using computer skills for email, closing out POs, reading spreadsheets
Dress Code:
Solid colored shirt with 4” sleeve
Solid colored pants or blue denim jeans
Full leather shoes with steel toe (no canvas/cloth, fully enclosed)
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Completes shipments by processing and loading orders; reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
Unloads, receives and puts away incoming goods and merchandise; unpacks bales, crates, and other containers; checks for damage and discrepancies; may install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage
Accurately sorts, labels, moves and stores goods; places materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences; arranges storage to optimize warehouse space
Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards
Prepares, picks, packs, and dispatches outgoing goods; uses pick sheets to locate items; removes products from shelves and places them on pallets; verifies product and quantity accuracy
Loads trucks for delivery; installs strapping, bracing, or padding; checks for damage and discrepancies
Consolidates freight for shipping; verifies shipping method; handles oversize loads appropriately; ensures shipping routes are maintained
Enters data into databases or computerized systems; retrieves stored information; documents discrepancies and seeks management advice
Complies tickets or worksheets from customer specifications
Operates warehouse equipment (forklifts, cherry-picking lifts, pallet jacks, etc.) as needed
Assists in inventory maintenance and inventory counts
Follows warehouse safety regulations
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
Requirements
1+ year of relevant experience and/or training
Relevant experience/aptitude should include:
Loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment; forklift/cherry picker experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals
Basic computer knowledge and proficiency; technical aptitude to learn; preferred technical skills include MS-Office, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, percent preferred
Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence
Ability to work in a team and self-motivate to accomplish tasks and goals
