Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Electrical Engineer:
#1. 7–12 years of consulting engineering experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power system and lighting design
#2. Proven experience delivering electrical designs for industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projects
#3. Hands-on experience performing power system studies using SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software
#4. Experience applying NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, and other applicable electrical and energy codes in design and documentation
#5. Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all project phases
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
Both Austin & Dallas offices are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with 7 to 12 years of consulting engineering experience who is passionate about delivering innovative design solutions and excited to grow with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of challenging projects, support our electrical engineering group, and partner with other disciplines across the firm.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (required)
Knowledge of local codes and standards (preferred)
Experience with local contractors, architects, and construction practices (preferred)
Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building types
Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems (preferred)
Must have SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience.
The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projects.
Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IEEE, IESNA, IECC, etc.)
Experience with lighting design (preferred)
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design software (preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams
Desire and capability to lead projects and coordinate across multiple disciplines
Additional Expectations:
Prepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and technical reports
Support business development and marketing initiatives as needed
Contribute to team mentorship, knowledge sharing, and firm-wide growth
Other Key Requirements:
Must be able to work in the office four (4) days a week
Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
