Data Engineer, Data Stream

Position overview

The Data Engineer will build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, data products, and monitoring frameworks. This role ensures accurate, complete, timely, and trustworthy data across enterprise systems. The estimated salary range for this position is from $180,000 to $230,000 USD per year. Occasional travel to client sites within the Central Virginia region is required.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable data ingestion pipelines for internal and third-party sources.

Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and reusable data products.

Implement automated data quality testing, profiling, and monitoring.

Support the operationalization of data lifecycle management and data retention processes.

Collaborate with architects to implement metadata, lineage, and data catalog integrations.

Assist in integrating new data sources related to learning systems, customer data, operational logs, financial systems, and marketing platforms. Requirements

5+ years of experience in data engineering or data quality engineering roles.

Strong proficiency in SQL, cloud data platforms, ELT/ETL frameworks, and orchestration tools.

Experience with Python, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and Azure Data Factory.

Experience implementing data quality rules, data validation frameworks, and observability tooling.

Ability to work in agile environments and collaborate with analysts, architects, and governance teams.
