Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH

Salary: $80k-$110k + full benefits and growth opportunities

Requirement: 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical, manufacturing automation solutions and controls systems, PLC and VFDs, robotic welding system experience preferred.

Position Overview

We are a growing robotics organization paving the way for AI driven hardware and manufacturing solutions. Due to continued growth we are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems that enhance our clients manufacturing and robotic welding processes. The ideal candidate will lead projects focusing on automation, robotics, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimizing system functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for manufacturing processes, robotic welding.

Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automation solutions.

Create panel layouts and schematics for control panels.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration and testing.

Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Participate in the commissioning of control systems and robotic applications.

Utilize tools such as Studio 5000, Delta and CoDeSyS for programming and debugging.

Implement continuous improvement strategies and motion systems optimization.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in Controls Engineering and PLC programming.

Strong knowledge of panel layout and control systems design. Use of Solidworks Electrical

Familiarity with Allen Bradley products, Delta V, CODESYS and Studio 5000.

Experience with robotic systems, robotic welding cells and automation.

Skills in testing, validation, and debugging of control systems.

Understanding of robotic automation (Yaskawa robots, Miller welding equipment)

Knowledge of BOM cost, standardization, safety compliance and design for manufacturability/deploy ability/scalability
