The Quality Engineer is a high visibility position within Super Radiator Coils that has a direct impact on growing our business. The Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. This role focuses on process improvement, root cause analysis, and ensuring product quality through data-driven decision-making. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager - ISO - Chaska, MN Division.
We are committed to leading and managing through effective quality management systems. The Quality Engineer will continuously work to improve our ISO quality program by identifying opportunities for improvement, developing quality work instructions, and implementing ways to meaningfully connect all team members to our quality program. This position will partner with our sales/engineering, design, purchasing and production departments to promote a quality culture where everyone is involved resulting in products that are produced to the highest quality standards. The Quality Engineer will utilize data analysis and problem-solving techniques to systematically drive improvements to directly attack challenges. Periodic, routine analysis of metrics will drive decision-making on future projects. Standard KPIs and other leading indicators will be created, tracked, analyzed and optimized by the Quality Engineer. They will close the loop on issues, communicate effectively and create a true quality culture that expresses through our values.
Job Responsibilities:
Standardize and evaluate quality-related KPI's, corresponding data, reporting, and communication channels.
Utilize root cause analysis and corrective action programs to systematically investigate quality or other production metrics, such as warranty and rework dollars. Attack the main drivers of these costs through pareto analysis.
Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
Create and maintain reports to track and trend key performance indicators (KPIs) related to defects, process capability, and other quality metrics.
Analyze quality data and drive improvements through data-driven decision-making and actionable recommendations.
Support internal and external quality audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up on findings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve product reliability.
Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen events, to enhance product and process quality.
Communicate quality information to all employees in a simple, engaging, easy to understand format.
Requirements
Job Qualifications:
BS in engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 2 years' experience preferred.
Experience in metal fabrication and make-to-order manufacturing preferred.
Continuous Improvement mindset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational, technical and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of quality tools & frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, FMEA, CAPA, 8D), data and statistical analysis.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
