Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors, working with the safety personnel as a resource. Continually strive for zero Injuries on all projects.
Perform shift prep; ensure record and timekeeping are accurate and submitted to payroll.
Watch for and correct all safety hazards at the jobsite and report all safety incidents to immediate supervisor and safety personnel.
Implement safety procedures to ensure OSHA, company, and client policies are followed, whichever is most stringent.
Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
May be required to serve as onsite safety representative on the jobsite and ensure all personnel are current with safety and skill training.
Ensure Safety Manager receives documentation of safety training.
May be required to coordinate and administer weekly safety meeting with owners, subcontractors, suppliers and Brycon's field personnel.
Assist with and/or review Pre-Task Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and tool box talks.
Assist with and/or review Incident Investigation Report and job emergencies, providing detailed documentation.
Monitor and schedule maintenance of equipment and tools.
Walk projects daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
Produce daily punch list for work being performed and ensure all punch list items are completed.
Coordinate required inspections with third-party QA/QC personnel and with national and local jurisdictions.
Schedule self-perform crews, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed and ensure correction of any deficiencies.
Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to Project Manager for resolution.
Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
Assist in obtaining and maintaining permits, submittals, and construction-related documentation.
Identify areas of work that are outside of contracted scope and elevate to Project Manager for inclusion in proposal.
Open the jobsite at beginning of the day, and secure the jobsite at the end of the day.
Maintain organized documentation for all projects.
Assist with employee job performance and valuations of all employees under their supervision on the jobsite.
Mentor and train foremen and general foremen in order to execute jobsite at maximum work effeciences.
Maintain communication with Project Manager, engineering, and Owner to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, cost and schedule.
Plan the rental or purchasing of equipment and materials and plan deliveries.
Work independently with little to no direct supervision.
Other duties, as assigned.
From time to time, an exempt employee may be required to work additional hours (in excess of 40 per week) to accomplish the goals and deliverables of his or her position. These additional hours may include non-normal work hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 8 years commercial construction experience with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
Journeyman pipefitter license and welders certification
Additional specialized training in welding (orbital and PVC)
Ability to obtain OSHA 30
Conflict resolution skills
Strong relationship building skills with field team, general contractors, owners/customers, and vendors to lead a positive work environment.
Skilled in reading, writing, and math (basic geometry and trigonometry).
Skilled in the use of mechanical and basic power and hand
Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of mechanical
Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing skilled mechanical
Principles and procedures of record
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes
Knowledge of uniform and international plumbing and mechanical
Ability to prepare labor and material
Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices
This position is a safety sensitive position, must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
