Sheetmetal Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability

Complete work assignments using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, shipyard procedures and shop machinery

The layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors, furniture and formica

Performing joiner work, fabricate nonstructural bulkhead doors and stainless steel trim

Work conditions may include entry in restricted/confined spaces

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experience

Available to work all shifts

Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required

Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools

Preferred:

Sheetmetal/metal fabrication experience and/or relevant training

Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment

Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs

Military/Navy experience

Automotive/auto body or HVAC experience

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative team environment and meet organizational goals
