Future Vacancies:

3 - Security/Maintenance Worker part-time positions available. Each position works 8 hours per day, two days per week (16 hours total), for 246 workdays per year. All positions are weekend shifts as outlined below.

We are also testing for an eligibility list at this time, which will be used to fill vacancies for up to one year.

Vacancy 1: Friday, 9:30 PM – Saturday, 6:00 AM; Saturday, 9:30 PM – Sunday, 6:00 AM

Vacancy 2: Saturday, 5:30 AM – Saturday, 2:00 PM; Sunday, 5:30 AM – Sunday, 2:00 PM

Vacancy 3: Saturday, 1:30 PM – Saturday, 10:00 PM; Sunday, 1:30 PM – Sunday, 10:00 PMDefinition:

To patrol District facilities to assure safety and security; to perform various emergency maintenance and repair duties; and to perform a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Examples of Duties

1. Patrol School District facilities on foot; check security and security alarm systems; report incidents in accordance with established guidelines.

2. Report alarm malfunctions; respond to fire and burglar alarms according to established procedures.

3. Review incident reports filed by on-call staff for accuracy and submit to supervisor; prepare and maintain various routine logs, records and reports.

4. Contact and cooperate with public safety agencies; provide keys, floor plans and other related items to agencies as required.

5. Perform emergency maintenance and repair work as needed; reprogram alarm control panels.

6. Construct various District signs such as emergency exit signs, name tags and plastic lami nated signs.

7. Operate and perform operator's maintenance on a district vehicle to patrol district facilities to assure safety and security.

8. Operate a variety of machines and equipment such as two-way radio, power saws, grinder, sander, drill press, bench edgers and sheet metal cutter.

9. Perform general clean up at job site; observe and implement proper safety practices.

10. Provide assistance in various other areas of maintenance as required; perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance repair and construction work in the basic trades.

11. Provide for proper materials as necessary to accomplish work orders; prepare and maintain records including labor, materials and work orders completed; prepare reports as required.

12. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employment Standards

Experience: Two years of building security and building maintenance experience is desirable.

Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

Physical Conditions: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for lifting, climbing, crawling; work or inspect in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time; walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; work on slippery or uneven surfaces, operating motorized equipment or vehicles, bending, stooping, kneeling; near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically.

Working Conditions

Environmental Conditions: Shop and field, indoor and outdoor, environment; subject to traveling from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, chemicals, inclement weather conditions; work or inspect in confined spaces.

Supplemental Information

This is a Dual Certification Recruitment: Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates. These examinations are open to permanent employees and the public.
