Position Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our broadband, voice, and IT infrastructure. This role focuses on hands-on technical responsibilities across fiber, wireless, and IP networks to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity for both internal operations and customer services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and telecommunications but will not be responsible for supervising staff.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering & Infrastructure Support
· Design, configure, and maintain core, edge, and access networks including FTTH, PON, wireless broadband, and DWDM systems.
· Perform hands-on implementation and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and transport gear.
· Manage routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs), IP addressing, and related services (DNS, DHCP).
· Support VoIP systems, voice switching infrastructure, and SIP-based technologies.
· Monitor network performance and perform diagnostics to ensure optimal uptime and customer service.
IT & Systems Support
· Assist with server management, virtualization (VMware), and cloud service integration.
· Maintain IT systems for internal users, including hardware, software, and cybersecurity tools.
· Help develop and test disaster recovery and backup solutions.
· Ensure network and system configurations align with security and compliance standards.
Collaboration and Escalation Support
· Partner with field and customer service teams for service delivery, troubleshooting, and provisioning.
· Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and escalation assistance.
· Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed for support or procurement.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field preferred.
· 3–7 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in telecom or broadband environments.
Technical Skills
· Proficient in IP networking, routing/switching protocols, VLANs, and transport technologies.
· Experience with wireless broadband, fiber networks, and DWDM is highly desirable.
· Familiar with VoIP platforms and voice switching hardware/software.
· Working knowledge of IT systems, including virtual environments, Windows/Linux servers, and cybersecurity tools.
Soft Skills
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
· Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
