Setting up and operating

[Davenport Model-B automatic (manual) screw machines

]( or Davenport Model-A automatic (manual) screw machines. These machines are equipped with five total spindles. These are not CNC Swiss Screw machines; these are mechanical in nature and operate off cam driven.

Responsibilities

May also set up and operate 6 spindle Euroturn automatic (manual) screw machines.

To set up these machines, it is a very physical, manual task (that’s often dirty/greasy/oily as well) and requires taking out and putting in multiple different components to change the setup of the machine to run the next part.

Must re-sharpen cutting tools and drills when needed or change out tooling when needed.

Setups and changeovers on most of the machines (in this area and other areas) can take anywhere from 1-4 hours.
