The Senior Software Engineer position at Blueflame AI plays a critical role in producing high-quality software solutions to support the Blueflame AI platform. This position requires close collaboration with our Client Success and Product teams and other members of our Engineering team to develop and implement superior software components, and ensure the reliability and performance of the platform. The ideal candidate will be organized, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

This is a hybrid position in our Heredia office with 1 day in office per week.

Responsibilities

Feature Development: Design and implement high-quality, responsive, and performant frontend features using React and TypeScript.

UI/UX Implementation: Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional, intuitive user experiences that meet design and product standards.

Code Quality: Follow best practices for code organization, component architecture, and state management to ensure scalability and maintainability of the frontend codebase.

Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth communication between client and server.

Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring fast load times and fluid user interactions.

Troubleshoot: Identify and fix bugs in the code.

Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with emerging trends, frameworks, and best practices in frontend development and the broader AI/ML product ecosystem.

What You Bring

Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript

Experience building modern, responsive web applications that follow UI/UX best practices

Familiarity with frontend performance optimization techniques

Experience collaborating with designers, PMs, and other engineers in an agile environment

Understanding of version control (Git) and standard development workflows

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)

Bonus Experience

Experience with Tailwind CSS for rapid, scalable UI development

Familiarity with React Query (TanStack Query) or similar data-fetching libraries

Experience working with WebSockets or real-time features

Exposure to AI-driven or data-heavy web applications

Experience with design systems or component libraries

Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress
