The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is currently seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented individual for a Consumer Protection Investigator Supervisor position in the Economic Crimes Unit in the Consumer Protection Section. This successful candidate will have knowledge of

consumer protection laws and rules and related state regulations, investigation practices and techniques and case preparation in order to supervise and train lower-level consumer protection investigators in investigation of consumer-related matters and preparation of cases for criminal prosecution.

This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The position will be headquartered at any of our offices around the State of Ohio: Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, or Boardman.

The duties for the Consumer Protection Investigator Supervisor include but are not limited to the following:

- Supervises consumer protection investigator in all aspects of investigations;

- Reviews case documentation for completeness and accuracy;

- Assists the chief investigator or unit director in development of investigative techniques, policy and procedure;

- Serves as a liaison with federal and state regulatory agencies;

- Provides training to lower-level investigators regarding civil and/or criminal investigation strategies and techniques;

- Conducts field investigations of consumer-related cases

Completion of undergraduate core course work in criminology, criminal justice or comparable field; 6 years experience in criminal and/or civil investigative procedures; must be able to provide own transportation.

-Or 24 months experience as Consumer Protection Investigator 3, 26333AG; must be able to provide own transportation.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Unusual working conditions: requires travel; requires undercover assignment and surveillance; may be wired during investigations; may work weekends or work additional hours as operational needs dictate; may be exposed to threatening or volatile situations
