Project Description

Educators with experience and a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are needed in Cameroon.

Cameroon has staked its vision for economic growth and technological advancement on STEM instruction. To meet this vision, the country is transitioning from a teacher-centered system to a more interactive student-centered, competency-based system. This transition from a teacher-centered education system to a student-centered system brings its own challenges. While teachers are struggling with creating competency-based learning experiences, students are still adjusting to the new, more interactive system.

As a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Specialist, you will collaborate with staff at secondary schools. Together, you will identify opportunities to strengthen the capacities of teachers and students, especially young girls who may abandon STEM studies due to societal stereotypes or fall behind due to more responsibilities at home.
