JOB SUMMARY
The Technology Operations Manager is a senior, hands-on technical leader who supports the Chief Technology Officer by ensuring Libera’s day-to-day technology operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with technical excellence. This full-time, fully remote role serves as the central coordination hub for the Technology team, tracking work assignments, driving progress across initiatives, ensuring accountability, and resolving issues that impact delivery and system reliability.
This person must be technical and capable of writing, reviewing, and debugging production-grade code across the inFormed technology stack (NestJS, NodeJS, Angular, Docker, AWS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, EventStoreDB). They will actively diagnose and resolve complex production and application-level issues, implement technical solutions, and guide others in adhering to sound architectural principles, coding standards, and security best practices.
Equally strong in leadership and execution, this individual will work across engineering, DevOps, QA, support, and product teams to align technical priorities with organizational strategy. This role will function as the escalation point for critical issues, mentor engineers, and help translate high-level strategic direction into actionable plans that deliver measurable outcomes. The role requires exceptional organization, communication, and follow-through, balancing hands-on technical problem solving with the ability to drive teams toward consistent, high-quality execution.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• 5-7+ years of technical experience in engineering, DevOps, software support, or similar roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Proven ability to write and review high-quality code (NodeJS, NestJS, Angular, TypeScript, SQL/NoSQL, RDS).
• Strong understanding of event-sourced or microservice-based SaaS architectures.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS GovCloud required), CI/CD pipelines and the use of AI tools to assist with automation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software or infrastructure issues.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational and task management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with cross-functional project coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Development
• Act as a senior-level developer capable of writing, reviewing, and optimizing production-quality code across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Lead technical reviews, including architecture, design, and pull requests.
• Diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex production or integration issues.
• Ensure adherence to modern engineering practices, including security, scalability, and code quality.
Operational
• Track, manage, and follow up on technical assignments across engineering, QA, DevOps, and support teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational questions from team members.
• Serve as an escalation point for high-severity issues and coordinate response efforts.
• Ensure environments, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes remain healthy and efficient.
• Facilitate communication and alignment between engineering, DevOps, QA, support, and product.
• Help prepare agendas, materials, and follow-up items for technology team meetings and cross-departmental discussions.
• Maintain clarity on the team's priorities, deadlines, and technical objectives.
• Act as an escalation point for urgent or critical platform issues.
Project & Initiative Support:
• Drive execution of strategic and tactical initiatives.
• Monitor the progress of technology projects.
• Identify risks, blockers, and resource gaps.
• Ensure stakeholders remain informed about the project’s status.
• Assist with evaluating and implementing new tools and processes.
Process, Quality & Documentation:
• Support development and enforcement of engineering and DevOps processes.
• Maintain documentation related to architecture, workflows, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Support adherence to NIST 800-53 Rev 5, security practices, and audit readiness.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
• Coordinate with Product, Support, and Customer teams.
• Assist in coordinating release schedules, testing cycles, and deployments.
• Represent technology priorities when the CTO is unavailable.
